In this class, I hope to become more familiar with different forms of median that will be helpful in the classroom and outside of the classroom. I want to become more comfortable with Word, Powerpoint, and other digital media. As I am not certain of my future career, I hope these skills will aid me as a teacher or in an other profession I use as well as in my personal life. Additionally, I hope to learn more about PLNs and different ways to add to and develop them.

I've been using technology throughout my life in an educational setting. I am familiar with Google slides and Google docs for completing assignments. I've also used Canva for creative assignments in an educational setting. I haven't delved into Ai for educational purposes yet but I hope too in the near future. Canvas has been the tool I've used to complete my assignments for classes from 6th grade on so I am very familiar with it now. Other programs or sites I've used are Jamboard, Turnitin, and Grammarly.

I am a history major and enjoy history classes, but I also enjoy other unrelated courses. As an undergraduate student I am taking both major-related courses and courses that will help me become a better student and thinker as well as prepare me for my time at FSU and the future. One important space is my engage 100 class. This is a small class for history majors. It allows me to meet other students with similar interests, become familiar with helpful resources and techniques, and teach me about opportunities at FSU. I am working on becoming better at using Word and Powerpoint through this class. Other tools that are already a part of my PLN are Google Slides and Docs, canvas, Outlook, and Instagram. Other spaces I am in are my Anthropology class and Public History class. These help my intellectual development and help me be a more well-rounded student. I feel that an important part of my PLN are my friends as they help me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

  1. Hi Ms. Daffodil! You seem very familiar with technology, which will definitely be good to have in whatever you end up doing and as a student too. I think your spaces you discussed will be a good resource to helping you with your goals within and outside your major, and might even help you discover what you'd like to pursue as a career. Surrounding yourself with friends and peers of similar interests and values is a very important part in your educational journey!
